Enterprise Vibe Coding: What comes after the prototype
An AI prototype is built quickly. Turning it into an enterprise application you can operate takes five things.
Today an AI prototype is up and running in hours. An enterprise application also needs identity, data access rules, tests, operations and an owner. That is exactly where tinkering ends and Enterprise Vibe Coding begins.
1. Identity and roles
Sign-in with the corporate account, roles from existing groups, an audit log for critical actions. This belongs in the first version, not the third.
2. Data access at database level
Access rules must be enforced in the database, not just in the user interface. Otherwise a single wrong API call is enough to see someone else's data.
3. Tests and a check catalogue
AI writes code fast, but not without errors. Automated tests and a fixed security catalogue before every release are what make that speed reliable.
4. Operations and cost
Where does the application run, who patches it, what does AI usage cost per month? These questions belong in a decision paper before the application goes live.
5. Ownership and handover
Repository, hosting and database should run on the client's accounts. Add documentation, release notes and coaching for the people who will develop the application further.
