Carve-out

Separating a business unit from a group in order to sell it or run it independently.
A carve-out affects legal, finance, people and IT. IT is usually the longest path because systems, licences and data are shared.
Typical building blocks are a separation concept, a transitional service agreement (TSA), Day 1 readiness and the later TSA exit.
